Low Counts = Postponing 4th Chemo = Neupogen Shots to Start Later Today

I was wondering how much those little bottles cost. Wow. I had no idea. I was thinking that the whole set of five bottles might be around $800 or so, which is already bad enough. My HMO covers it, so I'm grateful. But for some reason, they sent me home with the syringes, and didn't offer to let me come in daily for the shots.

Thanks for sharing your brother's thoughts on the low counts. I was kind of hoping that the low counts meant the chemo was doing its job. :-) Death to fast-dividing cells! Kill kill kill! :-)

When my mom came down earlier to train two of my friends to administer the shots, she suggested icing my upper arm a bit before the actual shot. I was surprised at how much it helped; I barely felt the needle go in. Alas -- I still felt the sting of the medication. I think I'm getting off easy on the side effects, though. I talked to two Stage 3C women last night (neither of whom visit this board -- yet) and both had trouble with Neupogen that I'm not experiencing. I feel very blessed and know that God is helping me get through this.
