Thanks to my friends here, one and all...

Hi, ladies! This is my second day back at my own house after surgery on May 29th. After that, I spent one week with someone who waited on me and made me feel like a princess. It’s great to be home though! There’s just no place like home!! My daughter-in-law will be checking on me and running to the grocery store for me, and maybe running the vacuum. She lost a baby in January and is pregnant again and pretty much past the most dangerous stage this time around, so far as losing a baby is concerned, but she still needs to be careful, too. My mass was BENIGN, so that is the really good news!! The next day after surgery, I became totally blocked and could not pass air or use the bathroom, so that was a very difficult and painful process—getting my bowels convinced that they really did still belong to me—as they did not seem to think they did. It took a week or more to get things working well again. Other than that, things have gone pretty well. I had the surgery on Thursday, May 29th and was in the hospital until Sunday. I then had the staples removed Tuesday, which felt pretty early to be out moving around a lot and sitting and waiting a lot, but getting the staples out was a piece of cake. It has felt a little like having the mother of all paper cuts, and my "nubs" have hurt some--or something in there--but nothing I can complain too much about. It is oh so good to be home!! I did it and I'm clean!! I've had lots of help from folks that I will never be able to repay. It's been an awesome experience. Now for the good part--I'M OFF FROM WORK!!! A really cool looking guy came to get me in my pre-op room and put a warmed blanket across me, gave me a big toothy grin and said, "let's roll!" I lauged and said, "I like that!" Thanks, everyone!!!

All I could see in your note was the word BENIGN! I'd been hoping you'd come back to let us know what happened, and I was definitely worried. I'm so happy that you didn't have cancer and that you're now on the mend! What wonderful news!

Have a !

Linda, Latina, and Ruth, thank you all so much. Thank you for letting me air my fears and doubts here. Knowing you all has influenced my life in a good way. Right here is where I was meant to be--on this board. It's so good to be off for a while. In a way, that alone is a life saver.

Congratulations!! I'm so happy the surgery went well and that everything was benign. That's such wonderful news.

Now, remember to take all the recovery suggestions: Rest, drink lots of fluid, don't overdo it. (For example, I STILL haven't vacuumed. DH is doing that!)

God bless!
