before sugery

Hi Alana,

hope all goes well with your upcoming surgery. All of the suggestions are soooo right on . They all worked for me. One thing i mite add is after you are home for a bit and moving around I found that some control top panties ...a size or 2 larger than your normal pantie size help alot.

When I stood up it felt like my insides were going south. Those bloomers helped me to stand up straight and it felt like my abdomen was supported and I was able to get back on my feet and start walking sooner. The brand I found was Hanes Her Way. Not very cute but definitley most helpful. Get used to wearing sweats for a while.

treat yourself to some great body lotion, also !
Will keep you in good thought. Look forward to hearing from you when you get out

What should I buy before I go in for surgery?

I had the worse dry mouth and lips EVER so for sure take the chap stick.

What I did not take enough of was stuff to keep the hubby and my dad entertained. There was a TV but since I was in a daze most of the time from the morphine I didn't really care what was going on around me. I think back now that it had to be boring sitting there watching me sleep. ....but then again I have heard stories of me running at the mouth while on the morphine.....

I was in on a Friday morning and out on a Monday at noon. I had to pass gas before I could eat real food or be released. For me it wasn't painful, just weird. I could feel it passing through every part of my abdomen.

There's another website with helpful info on gyno cancer, it's called eyesontheprize.com.

After surgery be really careful about lifting ANYTHING. I didn't even vacuum for more than two weeks after I came home. I still don't lift anything over about 30 lbs and I had surgery on Jan 10th.

Good luck and God bless.
