I'm home from my 6/10 surgery
HI
I made it... I think. LOL. Bad experience with the IV though... BRUISED.
Well, when the doc got in there, he said everything was fused together... probably from my c-section in 1997. Uterus and ovaries were fused together, and that mess was fused to my bladder. Now I have to pee every 1/2 hour or so. Scared to let my bladder fill...
First catheter didn't take. So they had to remove it and replace it. EEK. Have you ever had to pee so bad that you cried? Well I did. They finally medicated me to the point I couldn't even pronounce words LOL. That finally got fixed.
I am sore. No doubt about that. I was sent home with oxycontin (1 every 12 hours (10mg)) and percocet.
No driving for 10 days to 2 weeks, for now. We'll see about that. Now the only problem is GAS GAS GAS. Gas-X isn't working. Any suggestions??
I have been left home alone today, dbf had to work today, but he has the next 5 days off. I feel so bad for him, because I don't even want to think of sex right now... and poor him, all he has to do lately is look at me and well, you know. LOL.
I'll check back later, I am glad it's over though.

I'm home from my 6/10 surgery
Hi Laura
First of all, welcome home and welcome to the new rincess:!!!!
I'm really sorry you had such a rough time in the castle. I had a rough time tioo so I can relate to what you said. My IV had to be put in 5/6 times and the place they put in it caused me some nerve damage in my left arm and hand! I still have problems with it!
My catheter did ok, but peeing afterward was tiresome. Every 15 minutes I was up to go. Boy, that was tiring.
You spoke of the problems of Gas and that GasX didn't work. A couple of things you might try: walking around the house, even though you are sore - it helps get things moving. And, even though you don't want to drink, you should try that also.
Tell your husband he is just going to have to wait for sex. Now is not the time for that. You have to concentrate on you and becomeing healthy again.
Please call your doc if the gas doesn't go away or for any other problems. Sometimes they have really good solutions.
Sending you a big
Patty

I'm home from my 6/10 surgery
I'm only 8 days post-op, I had a really hard time with gas too. It took about 3 days of taking the Gas-ex plus a stool softener to get things moving. I find if I don't keep everything moving along thats when I get realy uncomfortable again.
I'm sorry you had such a rough time in the hospital, being at home is so much better. Familiar surrounding are more comfortable.
The worst part my hospital stay was my roommate. She was a very sweet girl but not very neat in the bathroom. I finally got tired of having to clean the toilet seat before I could use it and started using the staff rest room. I have two sons and a husband, and thought I was used to that kind of thing.LOL

I'm home from my 6/10 surgery
Thanks... I'm much happier being miserable in my own house. LOL.
As far as sex goes, he knows and understands that it can't happen. He was joking the other day about another summer without it (he was sent overseas last summer with the guard for 3 months).
I can relate to the every 15 minutes going to the bathroom. I'm scared to let my bladder fill up too much. OUCH.
I started with a slight fever last night, 100.2. My instructions said if it goes above 100.4 I need to call in. I waited it out, and I don't seem to have one now. No unusual pains.
BUT, I forgot, I can't do anything. Before I realized it, I had filled the dishwasher and started it. Well, at least the dishes are clean. LOL.
My doc says he's going to wait to see if I need HRT. I am 34 years old, and he's gonna wait for any symptoms. Haven't had any yet, but I know it's early.
Thanks again for the wonderful support that this board brings.

I'm home from my 6/10 surgery
Hi Laura! I to had a bad gas problem and Mylanta is now my best friend along with water. A friend of mine also informed me that drinking through a straw and really cold liquids can cause gas. I found this out to be true the hard way and found after a week and a half of room temp drinks that everything seemed better and I could go back to drinking cold drinks again. I hope everything gets better for you soon.

I'm home from my 6/10 surgery
Laura, my DH is never says anyting about the sex, but he's got all the usual symptoms he usually displays when there hasn't been activity in that dept in a while. He gets distant and cranky. We had to get pretty creative the last couple years since I was bleeding 3 weeks out of four. So I guess there's something I can be grateful for, being married 22 years things were getting a little routine.LOL
I was litterally drinking a lemonade from a straw as I read that it can cause more gas! The straw is now in the garbage can. Thanks for that tip.
Take care and listen to your body. Sometimes it takes a while before you can hear what it's trying to tell you.
