stage 1b cancer
Hiya
I think you are in the same position as myself. I had grade 1a endo cancer and because nothing else was found in lymph nodes etc my specialist did not recommend any further treatment. In other words, and this is what the dr's say, i am cured. I should imagine this is the same for yourself but please check with your specialist. Reoccurence has also been my big question and i have been reassured a hundred times! that i have as much chance of cancer returning as somebody who has never had it in the first place. As for not coping well this is so understandable and it will get better. You have had a tough diagnosis and it takes time for you to realise that 'yes you are going to be fine'. Its taken me nearly 6 months but im a lot more confident now as you will be.
Take care

Joyce,
Please don't be scared. Just cause I had a recurrence doesn't mean you will. My Dr told me that my cancer happens to be very agressive. It came back at the end of my vagina on the back wall.
My cancer or "tumor" is located at the back of the vagina, between my bladder & rectum. I'm not sure if that is where everyone with cervical cancer gets their recurrence, but that is where mine comes back.
My BF seems to believe that it was never taken out completely. He still believes that this is the same cancer I had from day one. I told him they did tests and things, but he thinks they just missed it. Who knows!!
It is scary, every check up is. I don't think there will come a day, when anyone of us won't be scared at a check up. You just have to take one day at a time.
Take care, and 's and ers to you...

stage 1b cancer
Hi there. I am also so thankful for this site since post op kind of seems non existant. My cancer was diagnosed as 1b cervical cancer. Operated on March 23 radical Hyst. My biopsies also came back negative. My next appt. is Aug 7th. I am so extremely fortunate. Went thru menapause 3 1/2 years ago but still experiencing the crying jags. They have me on black cohosh which seems to help. My biggest problem besides the crying is my still swollen stomach. I weigh about 92 lbs and am 5 ft. I am very athletic and have pretty much gotten all my energy back. There is also a little ridge that I understand can take up to 6 months or longer. I know how thankful we all are, but it sure would have been helpful to have an idea what to expect after surgery. Anyway, I hope this helps a little in terms of energy will definately return. Sure hope the belly goes away. Thanks so for being here. Love, Kat
