Oh, No...I've got Pneumonia!

I've been having trouble with asthma since last week. I thought the chest discomfort was due to Neupogen injections. My dr. had me take Zithromax and the coughing and discomfort was relieved. As soon as I was done with the Z-Pack, the coughing, wheezing, and low-grade fever started (2 days ago). Went to my dr. today, and the chest xray showed RLL pneumonia!

I'm so bummed...my last chemo was delayed from Monday to next Monday due to low platelets. I hope this doesn't delay me even more!

Please say a little prayer for me...

Linda

Oh, No...I've got Pneumonia!

Pneumonia along with low platelets. Just one of those road curves that happen while undergoing chemo. I am so sorry!!!
Did they decide to try something other than the Z pack?
Time to lay low and nurture yourself for awhile.
Best wishes.

Rest is the name of the game...

along with Levaquin, Albuterol breathing treatments, Medrol Dose Pack, and all of my regular asthma meds. My doc says that we have one big gun left to fight this at home...hope I don't need it. So...I'll be at home in my jammies watching movies for a little while!

The funny thing is...when I worked full time, I wished to be able to lay around the house and do nothing! Just goes to show you...be careful what you wish for!

Oh, No...I've got Pneumonia!

Thank you all for the prayers. My chemo has been postponed until Thursday so that I have time to recover.

The weather here in Michigan has been very rainy. It always effects my lungs. I could do everything that I'm supposed to do, but with this factor, I would still end up sick! So, time to rest, be pampered, and get well. My sister took 2 of my kids up to her cottage for the weekend, my oldest son has to work, and my youngest son (5 years old) said that he'd play with me and take care of me. Awww...he's my favorite!

Just a few more days until your last chemo! It seems so far off, but it's really just around the corner! The delay will give your platelets even more time to recover, so it's probably all working out in the best way possible for your body. I'm so sorry that you have pneumonia, though! Feel better soon!

Linda,

I'm sorry to hear that your chemo was delayed. But please do take this time to rest, like you never rested before. Eat some more of that yellow cake with chocolate frosting. (That is my all time favorite also)

Aren't kids wonderful, my 4 year old daughter helps me alot also. Well my 16 year old does too, he keeps her entertained. But when I'm stuck in bed, she comes to "read" to me. she is just wonderful and so loving. My 16 year old on the other hand, doesn't want me near him let alone let me hug him.

Anyway, take care and know that everyone is pulling for you.

's and ers to you...
