anyone else out there feeling blue?

I am just a bit over two weeks post op and I am so depressed. Well maybe not depressed but I seem to cry about nothing lately. Not about the surgery but I feel so useless and I wish I could be of more help to my DH. I sit in my corner of the couch and fold laundry or read books or watch tv and I just feel left out of the world. I want someone to come and sit with me and talk to me instead of cleaning my house etc.... am I acting normal or is there anyone out there feeling the same????????

It is sometimes hard to just sit back and let others pamper you; but that is exactly what you need to be doing right now. You have had a major surgery. At 2-4 weeks the stitches begin to dissolve. The initial recovery period is 6-8 weeks but it can take many months to be completely healed. We care about you and want you to have a complete and uncomplicated recovery. Rest, drink plenty of water, and take some short walks. Do you have a good friend you could call and ask to come over just for some "girl talk"? Or someone to watch a video with? I spent some time writing letters to friends, looking through old photographs, and doing some online planning for our next vacation.

Here is a link to a great thread called Beating Boredom .

Take care!
