Pelvic venogram/maybe embolization 6/17

Just wanted to let everyone know I am going to the castle this Thursday (all day) for a pelvic venogram and possible embolization (if the Interventional Radiologist sees any abnormal veins). I am not sure if they will find any weird veins and if they do if they are part of my continuing pain problem - BUT- since they were a major part of my pain problem in the past it is a possibility the pelvic pain specialist wanted to either rule in or rule out early.

I only have my left ovary remaining but have pain on both sides so she will be looking all over to see if she finds anything. Apparently it is possible to have continuing problems with pelvic congestion (or varicose veins in the pelvis) even after a complete hysterectomy. There are a few case studies from Standford that have illustrated this.... maybe that is what is going on with my right side still since I have had severe pelvic congestion noted on that side in that past before my right ovary was removed.

Anyway, hopefully everything will go well and it will either provide more clues to my problem by ruling out congestion.... or they will find I continue to have problems with it. I'm not getting my hopes up just hoping that everything goes well with the procedure and it doesn't make anything worse.

BTW, this is different from the first venogram I had (which was a series of times xrays). This is done using the same equipment that is used for heart catherizations and balloon angioplasty. I will be under conscious sedation but do wish I could be a fly on the wall and see if they find anything....

Best wishes to all.
