Thanks for the help sisters!!

I called my PCM this morning and am going to see her next week to REALLY go over my Upper GI results.

My GS told me that the report said I have reflux so unfortunatly it is not as simple as gas. I wish it were though. Hopefully I will get on the right meds the first time around since I HATE going through so many things like I do with most meds I have to take to find the right one.

Thanks again!!

I have bad reflux and I know just what you mean that it is not heartburn! My pain is a horrible sharp pain that to me feels like I'm having a heart attack(not that I know what that feels like!) It is a sharp pain right in the center of my chest and in the center of my back. The pain sometimes radiates up my neck and into my jaws and shoulders. It literally takes my breath away! The scary thing is, it's the same feeling that they describe when someone is having a heart attack. I sometimes wonder if I ever have a heart attack, if I'll know the difference! It is extremely painful and I would never describe it as heartburn. I also feel like I have something stuck in my esophagus and I get this feeling like something is stuck under my ribs on my left side. My GI doctor thinks I should have surgery, but I'm trying to make dietary changes before I think about surgery! I am on Protonix right now and I don't feel like it is helping. My esophagram showed up normal, but the manometry test showed that I have a "significant" amount of acid coming up and the endoscopy showed a hiatal hernia. So far I'm no better, but I could do better with my eating.......

I know how you are feeling! Hang in there!
