Bleeding after Intercourse

Hi Sistas - hope I haven't kept you on edge waiting for my post... I, myself have been on edge waiting for my test results...

Anyway! I just talked to my doc about my results. The cultures for chlamydia and gonorrhea were negative (I guess that's a standard test to do for abnormal uterine bleeding) thus ruling out any infection. And my pap was normal (yeay!) ruling out all kinds of things, mainly cancer.

Doc said since the hysterectomy was done under emergency circumstances, the most likely explanation is that there is still some endometrial lining near/at the cervix that reacts to hormonal stimulation every now and then. I'm thinking this may or may not have been happening all along, and that the timing of the intercourse is what brought it to my attention?

She said to 'watch' myself and if it happens again or continues, to call her. I asked if this is a future problem and she said it would be when/if in menopause. If bleeding occurs during that time, they would look at it more aggressively. I'm assuming those circumstances could mean cancer or something. I'm 36 and hopefully a ways away from my menopausal years.

Thanks for everyone's advice, prayers and concerns. And if it hadn't been for this problem of mine, I would not have found this awesome website full of awesome women. I love it and I've since referred two other friends to hystersisters.

Wishing you all a safe a happy 4th!

WHAT A RELIEF! I am glad it worked out for you too and I hope and pray that you won't have any further problems with this in the future.

I am glad I had it ALL taken out after all since my endo was so severe. I still can have trouble though so I will just cross my fingers and pray that I am one of the lucky ones and don't run into trouble later on.

Keep me posted about this though. I haven't had anymore bleeding since they took the polyp out thank goodness. Have a good day and a Happy Fourth Of July!
