I happened upon this site and feel it was no accident. I had received the new last week that my pap came back with more pre cancer cells on it. I had a LEEP in Nov. and the results came back normal. I went to my Dr. for my repap and six days later the news I was afraid of came true. I am really scared. I have Sever HPV. (Just found out). My doctor doesn't really know what more to do. He said not to worry that we have time and that we are going to be agressive in the fight to try to avoid Cancer. I don't know what more he is going to do. He said he doesn't want to do another sugery because he is afraid of the affects it will have on my cervix. I am so confused and scared. He says that if he cant find the leasions he will send me to a cancer center here in FL. I have my next appt on Tuesday and we are going to set appt. for another colposcopy and plan of attack as he calls it.

I also want to add that I think this is a great site with alot of great info. The support I have seen in the posts are wonderful. It is truely a blessing that i have found the site

(((Alicia)))

Many 's.

It's so hard to hear that abnormal cells have returned. HPV is a very frustrating virus! Several of us have had repeat LEEP's or cones trying to rid ourselves of the abnormal cells. Don't forget to practice good sound health management as well. This is a virus and a strong immune system can help your body try to fight it off. Eat well, take a multivitamin (folic acid may help fight off the virus), do yoga, pray and/or meditate. All of these things can help strengthen your immune system.

Ask your doctor for a referral to a gynecologic oncologist. They are the experts when it comes to female cancers and precancers, and they know all the current treatments and surgical procedures.

Good luck, Alicia! I am keeping you in my thoughts and 'ers.

Dear Alicia...

Please go and see an oncologist/gynocologist. They are the experts in this field and you can rely on their judgement.

When I was starting my journey and not knowing what to do, my doctor sent me directly to an oncologist/gynocologist. His exact words to me were, "Rosalie, any surgeon can perform a hysterectomy, but if you want it done right the first time without any complications, you go to the specialist. And if there is any question about the possibility of cancer, they are the ones to see." I took his advice to heart and headed straight for the specialist he chose for me. The top in his field at North Shore University Hospital, in Manhasset, Long Island, NY.

Please keep us up to date.

Rosalie

Thanks so much for your kind words. My test was today and it was ok, but it could have been better. I almost threw up in the Dr. office. But he said it was normal reaction. He said he did a deep scraping and took several bio's. Thanks so much for your kind words and advise. I did discuss the things that were suggested to me. . I get my results the first of next week. So keep your fingers crossed. He said we will discuss where to go from here once the results are in...

Sorry to hear of your continuing problems with dysplasia. I know the testing, waiting, biopsies, more waiting etc. can seem to go on and on, and can really get a person down. I am glad to hear that your doctor did a thorough sampling. Soon you will know what you are dealing with and you can get good treatment. Being able to do something about it will be better than the stress and uncertainty you are experiencing now.

Best of luck to you and take care
