Gross - but I'm not sure what it is....

Hi guys!

I've been a LIW for about a week and a half. My surgery date isn't until August 7th, because I wanted to be able to participate in the San Francisco Half Maraton on July 27th. I have since discovered that not only will I be able to train in order to finish in a respectible time, but I've also given myself 7 weeks to make myself nuts with anxiety and worry!

Unlike many of you, I haven't had an abundance of pain or heavy periods. Mine have just gone on for days. Probably one of the more annoying cases (and the one that finally drove me to ask for a TAH) was that I was having mini-periods, which would start every Thursday and end the following Monday. Between the fibroids my doctor found, the fact that my uterus is tipped waaaayyy back, and having Crohn's disease (which has already resulted in a bowel resection a few years ago) and being in major pain for two days after they did the water-ultrasound, I've actually been kinda lucky.

I actually have a question and I wanted to know if anyone else has had a similar experience. I have been having a vaginal discharge almost every day, and there is no smell or color to it. (It sorta looks like snot, but it's obviously coming out of the wrong end!) And, if that wasn't enough, add to it the fact that I have PMS symptoms that are making me (and my friends) crazy. I've called my Doctor's office and am waiting for a return call from the nurse, but I wanted to see if anybody else had this problem. I used to get it about once a month, so I figured it was from ovulating, but if that's the case, I've been ovulating every day for about 2 weeks!

Sorry to be so gross, but can anyone shed some light on this?

Gross - but I'm not sure what it is....

Hello,
Before my hyst I had a mucus like discharge almost everyday for a number of years. In my case it was caused by an erosion of the cervix which is a chronic inflamation. The only treatment is either removal of the cervix (as in my case) or cauterization of the area.

Hugs,
Marie

Me too!!

I'm glad somebody asked.....=)

I've had this problem too for a while and have just learned to live with it...I forgot to ask my doc during my surgery consult last week...

It's one of those "I hope it goes away after surgery" symptoms....

I wish you the Best!!!

Well how weird it is that someone else has this "problem", too! I have had this discharge for many months. I don't think mine was from an inflammed cervix because I just had my annual exam 2 months ago and it was fine. I have also had watery, slightly bloody discharge-have NO idea what it is!!! I don't even care anymore-Friday everything will be out!! Good luck to you!

I had that....

I didn't ask my doctor about it until after my hyster...and he told me it was due to my endo. I don't know if that's the case for you, but it 's what caused mine. My cervix is fine.

It is gone now...and it's soooooo nice to not have that 'snot' there anymore! lol...you made me laugh with that analogy!

As long as we are being *Gross* I have a redish/brownish discharge, with a very foul odor. It comes and go's! I'm hoping that after Friday it just go's! Has anyone had that?

TAH/BSO Friday June 27th Can't wait!!!!!!

I had the snotty stuff too, but did not have cervical problems, just wacky hormones. Two weeks post hyst and no vaginal drainage at all. Yipee.

I would be concerned about anything that had a foul odor that wasn't related to a period. That could indicate infection. Check with your Dr. on that one!

Good luck LIW! The wait is almost over!

Thanks Diana, for the quick response! I did tell my DR. and he will probaly find a mess in there. But thats one of the reasons to have a TAH. I'm close to menopause anyway. I'm looking foward to pampering myself. If I can figure out how to do that. Either way, it's soon to be the DAY. TGFF (Thank God For Fridays)

Thanks for all the responses and support. You have no idea how great it is to know that you're not alone (or some kind of freak) and that others have felt/done/had the same stuff happening to them.

This website is very informative and I appreciate all the feedback and info
