Ca125

Hi ladies
My pre-op was yesterday. My Dr. ordered some blood work which includes CA125. I have stage 4 endo and everything I've read on this topic says that it will be elevated due to the endo. What number are within the normal limits and what is considered to be highly elevated?
Thanks. : )

CA125

CA125 is best used after ovarian cancer diagnosis to see how treatment is working and track disease recurrence (even there it is not always useful, as some people with advanced disease do not show it on their CA125 test). Endometriosis can indeed raise CA125 as can having a period. Normal is considered 35 or under. Yours can be higher due to the endo with no ovarian involvement. Ellen

Ca125

Hi Jackie...

Sometimes I feel like the queen of ca125 numbers... LOL
It is kinda running my life right now.

Anyway, anything under 35 is in the normal range and anything under 20 is excellent although the number can fluctuate within the normal range as I am learning about these past few weeks.

Keep in touch.
