Does this sound like an adhesion?

I'm about 8 months post-op and have started to have pain where my left ovary used to be. (I still have my right ovary, but no pain there.) The pain is almost always associated with some gas or a bowel movement. It's not excruciating but is becoming more frequent.

If it is an adhesion, is the worst thing about it the pain, or are there more serious long-term consequences?

Thanks so much,

(((( Diane ))))

I'm sorry you are having this pain! This was exactly what I had started to feel at about your recovery point... When the pain got really bad, I had it investigated... I was from doctor to doctor... What eventually happend is I told my gyn that I really was feeling like it was adhesion related... So he did a laparoscopy.. And sure enough I had an adhesion involving my colon, thus the pain with movements, gas, and when the colon just plain moved. Which given the organ is what it does... From what I understand is, if it is an Adhesion, aside from the pain, it can cause obstruction. Unfortunately there is no way to diagnose adhesions other than a laparoscopy.

Diana,
Adhesions can cause a variety of pain and discomfort and we can each have a different experience. Your pain with bms could also be coming from another source, might be GI related. I think you should give your a call and let him/her investigate further.

You'll find more info on adhesions in our resources forum https://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/for...s=&forumid=165
