Belly button pain with a TAH???

Today I'm officially at my 3 weeks post-op date.

I am starting to have pain around my belly button and I've had a TAH.

What could be causing this?

I am being a very good princess and resting well.

Any suggestions?

me too

I've had a lot of upper abdominal aches and pains. in fact, at 4 and 1/2 weeks post op from a TAH/RSO (left already gone) thats where most of my pain now comes from. Sometimes it feels like i have a rubber band stretching from my incision to my ribs that doesn't want to stretch. Kind of a pulling pain...sometimes near the belly button too. Like you, I have been a very good princess, following all my doctor's rules. This most often happens in the later afternoon or evening when I've been up and around a lot.

Me too !!

Odd you should mention this - a couple of days ago, it felt like I had something pulling my belly button from the inside, and it hurt to straighten up. Was the strangest thing, especially since I had a TAH/BSO. A friend said it has to do with the internal healing and the stitches starting to dissolve. Today, and it usually happens later in the day - about 2-3 inches above my incision gets so sore, even though the skin is numb to the touch. Is this weird or what?

Seems there is always some little something that is aching or pulling, I'm starting to feel like a hypochondriac, lol.

Oh well, it's nap time again.

Belly button pain with a TAH???

I'm nearly 8 weeks post op...yay!!! And to be honest I STILL get pains around my stomache....

I sometimes ask myself why??? and then i remember, I had endo, adeno, cysts, fiborids, a benign mass in my abdomen, and surgery took four hours, and i think basically they
took it all out, cleaned it and put some of it back in...

So why does it hurt? Because your muscles are bruised. All that you see on the outside is nothing!

I think that's why i get so frustrated when women on this site say "oh i did so and so at a week and felt fantastic" and it's almost frowned upon to still have pain at week four....well i just think that even if we feel like doing something, we should think about the trauma our bodies have been through and respect the skill of the doctor and not do anything to jepordise the lasting effect.

So dont' worry about the pain too's normal to have such bad pain after a MAJOR operation...but if you are at all concerned, then call your doctor, he/she is the best person to advise you.

Take care, and happy healing,

thanks blade

i was so disapointed that i was not feeling great after week one. I think we have to look at what type of surgery we have and go from there. A lap or vag is going to be able to do faster than a TAH. Then we need to look at what was dune during surgery. I did not post my disapointment in the pre-op. Thinking this was going to be a one week pain thing was what i sold myself on before surgery. This has not been a walk in the park for me.....but i do feel better each day.
I have pains in the stomach each day and today I feel like I want to vomit......

bla bla bla bla........ thanks for this post i feel better knowing i am not the only one still in pain........ though i guess if i took pain meds that might help.... i just try not to take anything, my body has enough to deal with
