anyone had cervix removed after hyst?

Still having "mini periods" which aren't so mini anymore. Dr. did ultrasound and said he can not find any reason to have so much cyclic bleeding every 28 days lasting 14-16 days!
Dr. advised having removal of cervix. I had supracervical abdominal hyst on March 7.
I am scared to have surgery again-I am finally feeling great!
Anyone have this done and any ideas on what to expect?
He said he will do it vaginally, I haven't told him to book it yet.
Help!!

anyone had cervix removed after hyst?

I'm having TAH/BSO on July 15th and my dr told me that I needed to have my cervix removed due to endo. I'm not sure what your problems were previously, but it is my understanding that if you have endo, you are asking for problems by leaving the cervix intact. I am in no way saying that is what you should have done, your dr knows more about your condition and how best to treat you. I do hope that your problems are resolved soon and that you get the results you are looking for. Good Luck!!

Did your dr say that maybe it will get better with time? That certainly sounds like an unusual amout of bleeding from what I've read here. I had my cervix removed so I'm not familar with what you are going through but I certainly understand you not wanting to do surgery again. Maybe find another dr or research to see what some other options are.
Please let me know what happened - I'm curious about this. So sorry you are having to deal with this. HUGS

If you don't mind, I'd like to ask my own question regarding this topic you have brought up.

I had a TAH on June 2, so I am 5 weeks post op. Although the intent was to take my cervix, it took my DR 4 hours just to take the uterus due to bowel adhesions. He was unable to take the cervix without a specialist present to do a bowel resection. We are unsure if I will endure any future bleeding or "mini" periods. I have yet to have any bleeding or spotting since my surgery.

How long after your surgery before you started bleeding with your cycle? I'm wondering when I would know if I will still bleed?

anyone had cervix removed after hyst?

hi again, thanks for your replies, in response to your question, the bleeding started again exactly at the time of my regular 28 day cycle prior to surgery (at approx 3 1/2 weeks post-op) and has been getting worse every month.
The Dr did not say it would get better with time, as every month it has been getting longer. No I did not have endo., just very dysfunctional bleeding after my son was born.
The Dr. is absolutely stumped as he can not see how I could still bleed and said there was no possibility of mini periods as there is such a little amount of tissue left.
Very discouraged,but I feel great!!!
