3 days postop and doing well

I had my surgery on Monday. It was supposed to be at 9:15 am but my dr ran into complications with another surgery he had right before mine so I didn't get in until 12:30. It was quite nerve racking having to sit and wait. The worst part of it was some type of a spinal I was given to control the pain. I woke up in recovery almost clawing my face because I ITCHED so bad. That lasted over my entire body for over 24 hours.

My dr was not able to remove my cervix like was planned. He got in there and discovered that there was very little room in that area for him to work and he was afraid he would put me at risk if he tried to do it. No big deal..I simply still plan the yearly Paps.

I was up and walking Monday night, albeit a very short distance. The pain is a lot less than I expected it to be...well within tolerance level. I've been taking Percoset sporadically, but I don't need to take it very often..maybe once or twice a day.

I still feel like someone put a 20 pound bowling ball inside of me and sewed it up in there...lol. But it's tolerable and everyday I seem to waddle a little bit faster and can stand a little bit straighter.

They let me come home from the hospital this morning. I was so bored there.

Anyhow, I just wanted to check in and let everyone know that my surgery was overall a success and the recovery is no where near as bad as I expected it to be.

A new and pleased princess,
Judy

Pamcat and Sue have it right. Be a good

I also had a relatively easy time of it, and made sure to take it easy, following all of the rules set forth here.

I am at 8 weeks today and feeling 100%!!! I'm sure my good progress during recovery (it wasn't all wonderful - the first 2 to 2 1/2 weeks were challenging and uncomfortable) was due to my never overdoing it or trying to do too much too soon.

Best wishes and s

Sheila
