Thanks for your help and advice everyone. I kind of feel I'm standing at the entrance to a dark, midevil forest, with instructions to somehow make it to the other side.
My cancer is cervical. I've been told I'll be on the one day chemo/5 day radiation program.
I'm worried about the potential bladder problem 'cause my bladder hasn't functioined since my surgery on 6/25. Then my almost-bowel rupture (escaped that one with 6 more days in hosp. (came home last Wednesday).
I'm also worried that I read that it can cause bad ringing in the ears, and I already have that before I even start.
I also get nausea-feeling easily. Darn.
Oh well,
its my life.

You will be ok

Hi Polly

It sounds like your treatment is much like mine... i have cisplatin one day and 5 days, radiation. It's not too bad. But like everyone says, the side affects are different for everyone. Regarding the ringing in the ears, I have not had my 3rd chemo and 13th radiation treatment, I just started getting the ringing... it's not bad... it's only happened a couple of times and goes away within a minute. Perhaps when it rings, I should answer? haha

I have to give credit to you for going through all this (though you have no choice) in a foreign country and without family except for your husband. That takes a lot of strength.

And to still find humor! (Who was calling?) You will make it to "the other side" and far beyond.

Mary D.
