hi Sisters..

Well i'm 3 weeks post op today and really feeling wonderful..i'm not on any hormones yet..(just debating what to do) I see my gyne on the 24th..only bothersome symptom that i get occasionally is night sweats and not sleeping too well unless i take a gravol 50mg..that seems to help..other than that i still have my swelly belly but if i do a little too much i feel it swelling up more..weird eh? however..my concerns right now are with the hormones..the more i'm reading the more i'm confused..our family is full of cancer..you name it they have it..my mom has osteoporosis on top of her lymphoma..(now in remission)aunt had breast cancer..so it's very confusing on what to read..Do any of you have any suggestions on any good books that would help me decide..(maybe i'll just try and persevere the symptoms when they come along) but i would love to get some feedback if i can..

hi Sisters..

Hi Michee--

A book that I like is "The Wisdom of Menopause" by Dr. Christiane Northrup. She discusses the physical and emotional aspects of menopause, including information on how to make personalized decisions about HRT and alternative supplements.

I know it's confusing and there are so many things to consider. Educate yourself as much as you can and have a good discussion with your doctor. We are all so different when it comes to this issue.

Also, have you read any of the hormone jungle articles? Lots of good information here:

Hope some of this helps! Good to hear you are feeling wonderful. Best wishes for a continued smooth recovery!

hi Sisters..

I really liked Natural Hormonal Balance by Dr Uzi Reiss. I thought it explained the hormonal process in real words that you can understand better than many of the books that I have read.

There are many books out there and I think each of them have something to offer. I don't think that one book has the definitive answer. I've picked up bits and pieces from each of the books that I have read. There are some books that are recommended at www.hormonejungle.com
