Yeast Infection

I know how you feel about the bladder spasms. This morning I posted a question for the ostomates. I wanted to know if it was normal for me to feel like I have to urinate & sometimes I even catch myself sitting on the toliet to try. The response I received was that it is very normal & will get more frequent & severe the longer I go with my bladder disconnected. That means I will eventually have to have my bladder either removed or repaired. I suspected as such but have been too afraid ask. Now it makes sense why my dr's keep insisting on me going to Houston.

Also Maddy have wanted to ask this of you. When you live in the vacation capital of the world where do you go for holiday?

Got my irrigation kit!!!!

Ha! I got my irrigation kit .. I insisted on having that before I left.. It was like pulling teeth! He was afraid that I would cause stress to my stitches my irrigating it.. I also got the diflucan for my yeast infection. He never even swabbed me to find out if that's what I really had. I spent a good 3 hours at the clinic.

When I first got there, my tubes going into the bag were full.. IOW, they weren't draining into the bag. I showed the nurse. I told her, "SEE? it's not draining!" Then he flushed the caths, and told me that my bladder was empty (even though he filled it up with saline solution, and I know my bladder was full and sore!) and he insisted that they were just bladder spasms!!!

After the flush, my tubes drained beautifully. I again showed the nurse.. that they were NOW draining.... I don't know if they got it. UGH.

Because of my test on Tuesday, I am supposed to get off of the bladder relaxers starting tomorrow, but he wanted to do just the opposite: increase the dosage so that I wouldn't have any more spasms.. Even now I am shaking my head, cuz I am not experiencing those at all. I was trying to explain to him (very patiently) that I could feel the urine back up into my urethra and it was a pinching sensation. Not bladder spasms..

They weren't going to let me go until they talked to my surgeon, so I stayed and waited for the longest time. Finally, he called me in and I insisted on the irrigation kit. UGH! I just can't believe I had to go through all that!!!

Thank God I only have 4 more days to go until my VCUG and getting rid of the foley.... Well enough complaining.. I am home now, after 6 hours of being downtown.. yikes...

Aloha Maddy,

Are you drinking a lot of fluids? I mean I FORCED water and diluted cranrasberry juice down me like there was no tomorrow while I had both cath's in. I hate that pressure hurts.
One of my ER visits was because of foley pain the time they came back with results I pushed enough water down me and the clot passed....

I'm sorry your're going through this. Just know that there WILL be an end. Hang in there Maddy.

Feel better. You and my sisters are in my thoughts.

Thanks again Renee

Well, I did get the diflucan (and am taking it), even though I much prefer taking the natural approach, which is impossible to do now because of all the antibiotics I am taking. But! I went to the store and got some "Essentia" water which is supposed to have a ph balance .. apparently the candida (yeast) can't thrive if you lower your ph .. I am trying to stay away from sugars because yeast just loves that! I got some yoghurt and acidophilus.. and I'm on my way.. Oh yeah, and I just got some cranberry juice concentrate pills.. which I started taking today...

Aloha Renee,

Well, I am feeling fine..

I got a scare last night.. as my urine from one of my caths was pink! I wasn't hurting anywhere and I have no clue how that heppened.. the only thing I could think of was maybe the stitches are dissolving and doing that.. no idea.. but I am going in today at 1 pm to get that contrast xray test. I will first call my surgeon to let her know about my blood tinged urine.. it's probably nothing since I am not in any pain...

Thanks for asking.. I will write more when I come back..
