Chemo finished-Amen to that!

Hi, Georgene!

Remember that PM I sent you before chemo telling you to get B complex vitamins? ;-) Go get some! It really helps. And yes, the numbness, tingling and cold feeling is neuropathy. I had a ton of that with my first chemo, but I haven't had any since I started taking B complex vitamins everyday. My doctor will not let me take Vitamins C or E, but B vitamins are fine. So get yourself a good B complex vitamin to see if it doesn't help. Jochan also suggested green beans (string beans, french beans, etc.), which are high in B vitamins and taste pretty good. So those are good for you, too!

Don't worry about the tea or the sugar. During my first chemo, I couldn't eat anything for six days, and then all I could eat was Ruffles with onion dip. And eventually some ice cream. I'm eating healthfully now, so your tastes will change a bit as chemo wears on.

As for leg pain, that may just be typical chemo pain. I had (and have) bad bone pain for 3-5 days after every chemo. Day 4 is always the worst. But if your legs are numb and tingling, try those B complex vitamins! I get one from Trader Joe's that costs about $4 a bottle.

I hope you feel better soon! It does get easier. I don't remember if you were on the board when I went through my first chemo cycle, but it went really badly, and I was in dire, hysterical-crying pain for days. Lots of stuff went wrong. So you are doing GREAT! :-)

My feet felt like that too. I was told to take vitamin B6 and B12. It seemed to help with subsequent chemos. I do have one spot on my left foot near the big toe that is still "numb". My chemo has been done for 4 weeks (yahoo).

The vitamins do seem to help.

Good luck and s
