Bladder Spasms or Overactive Bladder??

Hi Sisters,

I went into day for my final recheck after surgery. I am 8 weeks post-op today. Everything is finally healed up -- wasn't healed at 6 weeks. My bladder still seems to spasm a little. She said I shouldn't have spasms at this point of my recovery and figured it must be my overactive bladder kicking in. She put my on a patch called Oxytrol. I am supposed to change it every 3-4 days. Anyone been on this? How is it working? Do you have any side effects from it? Sorry for so many questions. She put me on Detrol LA before my surgery and the side effects made me really sick. She said this one should be better. Thanks for any input.

Bladder Spasms or Overactive Bladder??

I'm sorry, I haven't used Oxytrol, so can't answer your question.

I had pelvic repair, & my bladder has been a little sensitive, so dr prescribed Detrol 2mg. I've been to scared to try it though.

Would you mind telling me the experience you had with it?

Thank you!

bladder problems

I am almost 3 years out of the castle. I have bladder pain after hyst . I was going to bathroom around 16-18 times a day because my bladder was not holding urine. My urologist first put me on trial of Ditropan xl 10 mg. I didn't like it because it dried my mouth out so bad it hurt. I have been on Detrol LA 4 mg for over an year and love it. Being on Detrol I am not running to a bathroom every hour and I don't feel my bladder pain unless I am doing alot of walking. I am also interested in find out about oxytrol patch. This is the first I have heard of this patch.

Bladder Spasms or Overactive Bladder??

My reactions to the Detrol were dizziness and nausea. I tried staying on it for 3 days thinking my body would adjust to it. It just got worse. The main reason I went on it was to test my bladder. The DR. wanted to check to see if I would get better with my "gotta go, gotta go" symtoms. Yes it did work for me so I didn't need bladder surgery, I just couldn't take that dizziness.

Today was the first I have heard of it also. She said it's pretty new and gave me some sample to try first. I just put the patch on today so I am thinking I will have to give it at least 24 hours before I see any change. I will have to let you know if it makes a difference.

Bladder Spasms or Overactive Bladder??

This drug is an oldy but trusty. It is called urecholine. The best thing that I have ever taken for bladder spasms. Ask your doctor about. There is very few side effefcts from it and it is a pill. I have never had any side effects from it. Check it out. Good Luck.

Bladder Spasms or Overactive Bladder??

Hi there. I have been on urecholine 25 mg. 1 tab 3 times a day. I was having very bad bladder spasms to the point where I couldnt go at all for about 2 days. I had a cysto preformed on me and come to find out I had endo covering my uritha. He removed it for me and started me on this med and it works wonders . I have had no bladder spasms since he started on me. Infact when I had my TAH on july 15 2003 they were not giving me my urecholine in the hospital and I was not able to get my stream started . I tried the running water tech. and it wasnt working. I told my nurses about the drug and I needed it and low and behold I was able to go pee again Yahoo. So you might want to ask your doctor about this drug. It is an oldy but trusty drug and I have had NO side effects with this drug. Cant even tell I am taking it . Good luck another drug they have out there for this kind of problem is called Detral LA . I have heard that one works great too with hardly ant side effects. Good luck.
