boy did I feel silly...

after I mentioned to my husband about the liver being related to the pain, and he reminded me (I really did know!) where the liver is located! I thought of everyone out there reading my comment and thinking how dumb it was ...

I will be meeting the doctor who recommended my present diet next week, and was planning to ask him about improvement in liver function along with lots of other things.

After he first saw me he told me to drink 2 liters of lemon water daily, along with juices, and water that had had wheat soaked in it. I think some of those were liver related. Also, I am eating only natural foods (so my body doesn't have to cope with any chemicals, preservatives etc.) no wheat at all, no sugar, no dairy. Basically lots of fruits and veggies. He wanted me to take something he makes up himself called "liver tonic" but I haven't done that yet. My sister-in-law took it for a month, and her description really didn't tempt me!!

It took me a few months to feel comfortable with the diet he gave me, and I only now feel ready to make more changes, which is why I am going back to him.

I don't have the time or energy for all the research other members here have done, so I just trust my doctor and will try to do all the things he says.

Ab Pain Duration?

Hi,
Just wanted to add my two cents here. I am 9 months post-op, and 7 months post-chemo. I still have some abdominal pain and tenderness. My doctor okayed exercise back in March - I've done Yoga for years, and Pilates for 10. The deep abdominal Pilates exercises were too painful at first, and I'm just now starting to do them on a regular basis.

I asked both my doctors about the tenderness, and they said it takes up to a year to fully recover from hysterectomy under normal circumstances, "normal" meaning no chemotherapy. Chemo slows down the healing process, so it may take longer for the tenderness to totally disappear. I found that reassuring since it is so easy to freak out with every little ache or pain!
