Travel after complete hyster. and appendicts removal

I had my surgury on July 14, one week ago. This case as a surprised but through a catscan it was believed I could have cancer as it runs in our family. The cycsts were actually in my fallopin tube, on on each side, largest being that of a tennis ball.

I had vacation schecdule quite a while ago. My husband would drive 9 hours one way with our 4 and 9 yr. old. Do you think I willhave the stamina? Off course we have the return trip home.

When are you going on this trip?

Personally I didn't have the energy for any type of get-away until at least week 5. We went camping and DH did all of the work. I hiked a little and slept. Sat and visited with friends and slept some more.

I would also make sure it is okay with the DR for any type of travel.

Best Wishes

Hi there,

We're all a little different, and some may be fine with travel and such sooner than others, but I'm not one of those. I went for a little drive along the beach with my DH at about 4 weeks postop, and while it was nice to get out and about, just the couple of hours we were out took its toll on me. I came home miserable and had to rest the whole next day.

You don't mention the timeframe here, but I agree with checking with your DR (albeit sometimes DR's instructions are a little vague) and see how you feel. Ultimately, your health and recovery are much more important than a pre-planned can be re-scheduled/put off, but recovery cannot.

I hope you work out whatever is best for you.
