A trip to the castle

I had my cone bx 7/17 and was feeling fine until 7/23. I had an increase in bleeding, saturating a pad every hour with severe abdominal pain where I could not stand up. I called my gyn onc who did the surgery and she told me to come in. I was admitted to the castle for IV antibiotics and pain meds. My doctors THINKS I have an endometrial infection from the cone bx. She said it is rare, but can happen and thinks it may have happened b/c the bx was done so close to having a c-section. Sounds weird to me. I was sent for a US of my abdomen and kidneys and the tech didn't do my abdomen. Although found kidney stones on top of everything. I was scheduled for a CTscan of chest, abdomen and pelvis and I was bumped for 2 days due to people coming in from trauma and those with worsening conditions. I had to drink that yucky liquid and was fasting all day and by 8pm last night they told me it was still unlikely I'd get in and I could go home if I wanted, so we did. I have to have it done now as an outpatient, ugh! I am still in pain and bleeding. I'm on abx and pain meds at home. Has this happened to anyone?

My doctor called this am to check in and gave me the date of my hysterectomy, 8/18/03.

A trip to the castle

Oh, Lynne. I'm so sorry you're going through all of this. My situation is completely different, so I can't offer any advice or share emphathetic experience. But I wanted to say that you will get through this, and you will get past these minor bumps in the road. It's hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but it's there. I hope your next hospital experiences are better, and that your bleeding subsides soon. s!
