Thanks!

I did make it through my first day of work! I actually feel pretty good tonight considering. I am having an awful time with the water.....tastes terrible.....and just can't get the quota down. I'll keep trying. I am going to try the vitamin B...thanks for the advice. No problem with constipation as yet. I have an appt on day 15 after 1st chemo to get my wig....and get my head shaved. (Next Tues.) I have these awful red rings around my eyes---looks like black eyes. Going to put cucumbers on them tonight....my daughter suggested. Thanks for all your support and advice...you guys have been a godsend. Good night all!

First Chemo July 21/Mon

Hi Julie....

You went thru the hardest part... the rest will be a piece of cake!! The first is always the worst because of the fear of the unknown. Yes, the "bone ache" as I called it used to hit me hard day 2 and 3 after chemo but it did go away. I took something else for nausea and never had any. Check with you doctor. Watch for constipation, you do not want that to happen. I used to take senekot after chemo and all was well.

Hang in there .. It does get better.

I am sorry for what you are going through. I know it is not easy. I did Chemo and radiation for lymphoma 7 years ago. It is not fun. But it will eventually end and you will come out the better for it. You mentioned how bad the water tasted and that you were having trouble drinking your quota. I had the same problem. Have you tried flavored water? My doctor was satifisfied with juice if I couldn't drink the water. Strangely enough I could really suck down Orange Hi-C (never drank it before and haven't since). I knew someone else that did TANG! Anyway, check with your doctor and see if it has to be water. Hang In There! I hope you begin to feel better soon.

First Chemo July 21/Mon

Hi Julie

I finished Chemo on 01/17/03, It wasn't fun but i wasn't as bad
as I had thought it would be either. The hair loss was rough, I
shaved my hair off and wore a wig. I was able to work all the
way through my treatments, the only time I took off was for
Dr. Appointments and there was 2 or 3 days I went home early.
Everyone reacts differently to the chemo. Now 6 months later
my hair has grown back, it's still a little short, but it does grow
back and my last CA125 was 4.5. It takes time but soon it'll
all be over and you'll feel like your old self again. Also my Dr.
had and still has me taking vitamins, they really do seem to help,
but I understand some oncologist do not want their patients to
take them.
