I doubt very much that radiation has anything to do with skin cancer. I've never heard of it. Don't think it would be used if that were the case. I tolerated it very well -- skin was just red and dry. Back to almost normal three - four weeks after treatments ended.
At the hospital, I was given very good booklet about radiation by the National Cancer Institute. NIH publication no. 01-2227. Have you ever called the NCI's Cancer Information Service at 1-800-4-CANCER ? I have a number of times. Good info. Very helpful there. You can call them and request that booklet if you're interested.
