This Compliment For All Of Us!

Well, ladies, as I was leaving the hospital after blood work on Tuesday, pulling out onto a main street, a man passing by the open window of the car said, "Hello, Gorgeous". Well, there I was with my nose powdered, lipstick on, sunglasses, a shirt that hid my thin arms, my wig on - itching like mad, and a little hat. But, I giggled inwardly, and thought thank goodness for clothes.

But, driving back, I thought of my hyster sisters, beautiful, strong, and courageous women (there's strength and courage, by the way, when we acknowledge our down times emotionally too, I believe, anyway). So, unknown to the stranger on the street, he really said this compliment to all of us, as inwardly that's how I accepted it!

Let's : and honour ourselves.

This Compliment For All Of Us!

What a lovely thing to share with us today! Thank you, Wild Rose!

I just had some pictures developed over the weekend (we're not truly digital yet) and I couldn't recall what "events" the pictures covered. Well, one set of pictures was from when I had my hair shaved off right after it started coming out from my first chemo. And you know what? There were a few pics that were so beautiful, that I was amazed. And I thought the same thing. This is the real me. And it's a beautiful picture, with a beautiful smile. A smile that conveyed happiness and joyful serenity, and a love deep within me that cancer can't get to. How shocked was I to even think that a picture of the bald me would become one of my favorites!

What a gift God has given to me today (through you)! Cancer hurts and sometimes the treatment for cancer hurts, but that doesn't take away from who we are. We're not "damaged goods" or "dented cans" because we have cancer but rather, we are truly beautiful, strong, loving, caring, supportive women. I just didn't know how strong or how beautiful I am till today.

This reminds me of a really great saying, "If you don't like the way things look, change the way you look at things." Thank you so much for a gift I'll always treasure. (Sheesh, I never thought when I started out on this journey that I'd love the things I'd learn.)

Thank you Wild Rose

I was feeling kinda fat and frumpy today...... sometimes its hard to feel pretty with 30 extra pounds and a scar thats slowly healing..... and wanting to be be back to my pre-surgery energy level... and wondering will things ever get back to 'normal' and not wanting to because life is so much sweeter and infinently more precious............

I want to be wrapped in an attitude of gratitude daily and your post helped me to remember that and to look at the unexpected gifts we are given EVERY day.

THANK you, Thank you, Thank you This evening i feel like a queen =)
