tips for removing patches

Does anybody have any tips on how to get the patches off less painfully? Just wondered cause I have my first one on and it needs to be changed tomorrow and all I have heard from the people around me is horror stories about welts and losing skin etc. Just wondered if anybody had any secrets as how to get them off.

Thanks

tips for removing patches

Hunnybear, I use to wear the patch and I would use some baby oil, I would rub it all over and around the patch, then I would take a shower or bath. Before putting on a new patch make sure the area is dry and free of lotion or oils. There are some other post on how to remove the patch, maybe you can try doing a search. Hope this helps.

tips for removing patches

Hi Robin! I haven't had any trouble with pain, welts or skin being removed when I remove my patches. I just grab it by one corner, using my thumbnail, and pull it off by pulling parallel to the skin (i.e. pull along the skin rather than away from it). It comes right off and doesn't hurt a bit!

Then I clean off the little bit of adhesive residue with either rubbing alcohol or a little oil... if you use oil, though, make sure to either put the new patch on before you do it, or wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before handling the new patch so you don't cause it not to stick well by getting oil on it.

I hope this helps... let us know how it goes, OK?
s,
-Linda

patch removal

Thanks for the tips girls I will try them. The girls I work with have not had good luck with the patches, some had skin reactions and had to give up on wearing them and others said they had a really hard time getting them off without irritating the skin too much. Thanks again for the suggestions.
