"Being John Malkovich" loopy and fascinating

With you on these two, big time.

And to all of you who mentioned]

"It's a Wonderful Life"

Yeah, it gets me in tears everytime, Sentimental Old D-Word (SOD!) that I am. Notice that the bad guy also runs the draftboard? Even in what Studs Terkel called "THe Good War", it's the louse (without children of his own) who sends other folks' sons off?

Give me the original German version anytime!

It had Peter Falk in all his Colombo finery, and why they changed the ending in the American (under the circumstances, won't give more away) was beyond me!

Doesn't any one like westerns? My all time favorite is Silverado.
There were so many different story lines how could you get bored? I also liked a league of their own. I really identified with Kit. other favorites, Pay it forward, The sound of music, It could happen to you, True lies, The Princess Bride and I could go on and on. Jeannie

What are the Best Movies You've Ever Seen- Why?

Okay, I'll give it a try. In no particular order:

Frida

Local Hero

The Lord of the Rings

The Princess Bride

Bringing up Baby

Sabrina (the original)

The Grass is Greener (Cary Grant, Deborah Kerr & Robert Mitchum in a love triangle. Very funny & sexy.)

The Full Monty

Harold & Maude

Enchanted April

I'm sure I'll think of more, but it's late and my brain is shutting down. Good night!

What are the Best Movies You've Ever Seen- Why?

I saw one of my favorites on tv last night - _Fast Food, Fast Women_. Great "little movie." Some nudity and prostitution issues, one scene of a violent mugging, but I can't think what else could be a problem there.

Wonderful New York feel, with a fine smart librarian and goodness rewarded in the end!
