pain during sex

The burning starts just inside the vagina and goes about an inch in, I guess anyway.

pain during sex

Been there, done that with the pain and burning. Here's what was up with me....

I had developed (gulp!) adhesions. Intercourse was excuriating. I had adhesion lysis and life was immensely better. The problem with having adhesions cut (if that is indeed your problem) is that they can come back, which many women on this forum can attest to.

Other pain and burning - I developed a rectocele, it wasn't very big but it was just in the "right spot" to make me miserable. Had it fixed and now I feel great. Risks to know about - prolapse surgeries can sometimes fail, or cause painful intercourse. In my case I'm doing well. Burning - get cultured and make sure you don't have an infection of some kind - yeast or bacterial. Have you changed soaps or detergents and are maybe experiencing an allergic reaction? Despite keeping my ovaries I am drier than I used to be, which most of the time is a good thing since I was constantly soaked before my hyst. But too much dryness, either due to hormonal differences or whatever can cause severe burning. So can hormone creams. I use Estrace 0.01% cream once a week now - I had been on a 3x a week schedule. If you suspect the Premarin is causing a problem then talk to your doc about trying to reduce the dosage, maybe its just too much for you. Perhaps trying a different brand, since some are bioidentical and some are not. Again you would need to talk to your doc to get the prescription changed. Replens is an over the counter moisturizer than helps some women (I don't like it, but you might) or pick up some of the KY long lasting lubricant and see if it gives you any relief.

I hope each of you find an answer soon, I know from experience just how frustrating (and in my case I was embarrassed, I was obviously crazy, right?) pain after a surgery of this nature can be. I hope this post gives you some other possibilities to explore.

pain during sex

Hi Jackie
I too have a burning during intercourse. I have used astroglide and have also tried ky jelly still the same burning. No orgasm either. Thought maybe it is too soon but dr.released me at 7 weeks. If it keeps up I'll need to call but that is the only time I have burning.

Hi Jackie

If your burning started after using the cream I would strongly suspect it as the cause. I had exactly the same thing happen to me and it took awhile to put two and two together. I felt like I was really raw up inside and it took a week or so after stopping using the cream before the burning and soreness eased off. Funnily enough my DR couldn't see anything in my vagina but he did suggest I stop using the cream and sure enough, problem solved.

Thank you to all who have replied to my post. I'm not real sure what adhesions are? Something to do with the scar? I had the scar tissue lanced and it has since healed. And the dr. says it looks fine now. Do you see adhesions? The cream was I think suppose to build up tissue so that it wasn't so tender with the nerve endings.

Also, what is a rectocele? And what is a prolapse surgery? I guess I need some education lol Who wants to have to be educated in this area! And what is endo? Sorry for all the questions. I would like to know more before I go back to the dr.

My burning has nothing to do with intercourse. It just burns most of the time. It's uncomfortable to wear jeans. I've decided to stop using the cream and see if it makes a difference. I have a dr. appt. the end of this month.

You have all given me some things to think about and look forward to your replys!

Thanks again!
Jackie
