Is pain in my stomach normal?

What all with certain things, aches, pains being normal, I thought I would ask. I remember, when I thought that heavy bleeding and blood clots were abnormal, but with gyn cancers, they are 'normal'. I have been experiencing lower abdomenal pain for the past few weeks, getting worse and worse. Today it's almost unbearable and is now a daily thing for me. When I press on my lower and mid tummy it hurts so much. My pain is similar to severe cramping. I have been taking non aspirin stuff, but the aspirin kind of stuff is better, but I heard it's worse for us cancer patients. Still, I have to take alot to get relief.

I asked the doctors but they just gave me more things for stomach burn, laxatives and nausea. I'm such a mess, combined constipation and diarea.... I asked the radioligist specialist, she did the same. Do I just have alot of of junk in my tummy that has to get out? Is there something better I can eat? Right now, its very difficult to eat much more than crackers and rice stuff, which i know is not to good. But I can seem to stomach veggies. I do eat melon though and apples, so that should help. Perhaps this is one of things that 'will pass'..... (kinda funny)

Sorry to be whining so much lately, normaly I have a really good sense of humor and can laugh most of this stuff off.... I feel really bad about this...

Is pain in my stomach normal?

Oh Maria, I'm so sorry to hear about your pain. I hate it!!

I can't remember getting any kind of stomach cramps while undergoing radiation or now with chemo. It could be the constipation and/or diarreah, I'm not sure. I do know that I had almost unbareable pain while trying to go to the rest room. I remember really having to go, but when I went nothing would come out and it was killing me. Talked to my radialogist nurse (she was a Godsend) and she told me sounded like hemorids, never had them before, so didn't know. She told me to get prep h, and hold it in for as long as I could then try again. It was SUCH a different story, when I went that I almost cried with relief.

Anyway, I know your problem sounds alot different. Talk to your nurses also, I know I do, when I don't get the kind of info I'm looking from my Dr's. Sometimes patients tell nurses more than they do Dr's so they know about different things to try.

I do hope you get relief soon. Please keep us updated.

's and ers to you...

Is pain in my stomach normal?

hi again

You know the situation! It's like giving birth to a watermelon, when it's just a pea or nothing at all.

Funny enough, here in holland, we are having a heat wave... it's in the high 80's -90's and we don't have A/C except in offices. (Usually don't need it) I have a window in my bathroom which is open all the time now. Gosh, the screams that people must hear. (I live in something like a group of townhouses that surround a courtyard that echos) They must think my husband is beating me on a daily basis, several times a day. I have to smile and laugh at this one... Oh gosh gals, the stories we can write!
