sore tummy

Probably a really dumb question: Is it normal for your tummy to be sore for a few days after you have an ovarian cyst (even a lil one) burst/rupture/whatever?

I'm starting to feel guilty about asking doc's office all this stuff. Ever feel like they're drawing straws and the loser gets to talk to you? I just know they roll their eyes when I call.

Glad I have my sisters and the unending support and wisdom here.

Heya Cat -

LOL yes I feel like that when I call my doc's office. But they are there to answer your questions, and like it or not, that is what we pay them to do.

And yes, its normal for your tummy to be sore after a rupture. No matter how small the cyst was, there is still trauma to the body, and that takes some time to deal with. Even though the majority of pain goes away quickly, it will still take a few days to go away totally.

Big, gentle s to ya.

Hi Cat

I have had endometriomas in the past (endometrial cyst on the ovary) that have ruptured. At first the pain was so bad I could not move - one time I was vacuuming and there I was stuck in the middle of the living room, and my feet would not take me anywhere! The next 3 or 4 days I took Tylenol #3's with codeine for the pain before getting back to "normal" (just everyday pain!).
