It's getting closer....

Hi! I find myself here more and more every day. I am scheduled for a slv(?) vaginal hyst. will try to leave tubes and at least part of one ovary , definitly leaving cervix. Dr. said if it comes between taking my cervix or going abdominally he will go thru belly. I have endo. My last lap was a year and 1/2 ago. He cleaned everything up, but said there was endo behind the uterus he coud not get to. Like alot of you, I have been through 6 laps, all the infertility treatments incl. 3 failed IVF's. I just turned 44 and know this is for the best. I am sore 3 weeks out of the month, headaches, horrible PMS and tired always. I am getting really nervous. I know that feeling when you wake up from surgery and I am not looking forward to it. I feel like a twit though I have been reading all these posts and I am not having 1/2 of the things done most of you women have Bless your hearts. Although I really don't know what will actually happen as the Dr. said it depends on what he sees as to how much he takes out. The Dr. wouldn't be suggesting this surgery strongly if I didn't need it right? I have a 11 yr. old step daughter who I have just adopted after 8 years. She is getting nervous with me, so I try to laugh it off for her and let her know It will be alright. Well I am really rambling. Is there any one here who has had the surgery I am scheduled for? Thanks for listening, Maybe I can get some work done...I'll be back though this site is like a magnet. It feels like no one else knows how I am feeling. It is starting to sink in, this is final..all the gyn problems should be behind me after this. Well thank you and Bless all of you.

Your Not a Twit!! LOL

Hi ....
Don't concider yourself a twit, because your not haveing the same surgery that all of us others had .... Surgery is surgery no way you look at it ... I had a TAH Everything went ... Uterus, cervix, tubes and both ovaries ... along with the cervical Cancer ... I am 51 and very happy I had it done ... I am 4 weeks and 2 days post op .. I go in today for my 4 week post op appt. to have the Dr. do his internal view ((OWCH)) ... My abdominal incision looks great .... He used tiny staples and my old c-section scar. sO I will just still have the one scar, you won't even be able to see it. In the castle I had to convince the nurse that came to come to take them out, before I left the castle. I even had any LOL ... She kept saying (You don't have any) I assured her I did LOL.. I told her to look farther down he he fianlly she found them and they were removed ...

I had a LapO and D&C it worked for a few years, but everything had grown back, along with the cancer .. I had no choice but to have the HestO done ... I don't have any regrets I am actually really feeling good about everything now ... My HRT is working just fine ... and my swelly belly is Gone ....

Just keep reading the stories in here, and keep asking questions no matter how small, big or how stupid they may sound...
((There is no Stupid Questions)) So ask away, I did ...
Best Wishes to you ...

Enjoli
Surgeries I have had: Tonsils Removed - Hernia Removed - C-Section - Tubes cut and clamped - LapO D&C - LapO Gall Bladder Removal (It rotted out)) then this one ... TAH --> My last I hope!!!
