Hi Ladies

Thanks for all of your support, I really appreciate it. I think people who are not going thru this, really don't understand, and of course, they can't. I'm trying to dilate and am searching high and low for some sort of perfume free vitamin e or other good oil. Ladies, WE WILL OVERCOME THIS!

Hugs to all

Try your local health food store for Vitamin E or calendula oil.

To Maria

I had very similiar cervical cancer treatment, 25 external radiation, one, 72 hour internal radiation, and 6 chemos, cisplatin. I didn't have sex for 7 months due to the cancer and treatment. I did have sex 3 weeks after treatment ended and it was a bit uncomfortable at first but then fine. I did have some bleeding afterwards but both my gyn/onc and my rad/onc had told me that would happen. Since then (July 2003) I have had sex weekly and there hasn't been a problem. I thought about using a dialator and ordered one from: You might be able to order products from them too and not have to rely on candles! It works fine but I can't see any real use for it since sex with dh works too. My radiation oncologist said weekly sex, or even sex every two weeks, would keep my vagina open. So far so good.

Since you are 6 weeks out and still having such pain, you should call your radiation oncologist and ask her about it. You might also ask her about dialators. My doctor had them on hand but said I didn't need them if I had regular (weekly) sex.

I hope this helps.

Hi there

Thanks for the web site link, having some problems accessing it, by the way I'm an American who lives in Europe, so most likely I can't order via net as many companies do not ship overseas are charge a fortune for it, if they do. I will try to call my dr today. Last time I saw here a couple of weeks ago, she was really busy, a hour behind in appts, and I told her I had problems, I screamed during the exam, the pain was so bad. Im still kinda bummed out that she did not make time for me, have been depressed this week, I guess from uncertainty and of course the dreaded menopause, and I don't take hrt. I'm considering it though, I'm still trying to figure out the risks. So much bad stuff in the news these days.

Anyway, thanks.

Hugs to all
