Spotting almost 2 years after!

Haven't been here in awhile but it's the first place I thought to come (after my doctor, that is) My surgery was 12/11/01. Yesterday, I started spotting. My doctor saw me in the afternoon and said it looked like I was on the first or 2nd day of my period and she was surprised how much "flow" I had coming from my cervix. She is referring me to my surgeon and I will call him in a second for an appt, but anyone else have anything like this happen? What was up? I have had nothing in 2 years and now this! This was the ONLY silver lining in the whole hysto thing - no more periods!
Thanks, in advance, for all the feedback,
Lisa E.

Spotting almost 2 years after!

Wow! I am sorry! I truly do not know the answer to your problem, but I do remember during my consultation with the surgeon that he told me that if I kept my cervix there was a possiblity that I could start spotting later on. (Sorry to hear you have having something like a period!) At that point not only would a woman be on estrogen but then they may have be on a hormone combination with progesterone. (Needless to say, at that moment with those options, I decided for them to remove my cervix.) Hopefully your doctor can see you soon so you. Good luck!

Bleeding without a cervix

Hi, I am 1 year post of as of Thursday and I am spotting. At first it was just once and awhile after sex. Sometimes sex is painful,. Dr. looked and said she thought it was caused from granulation tissue. Now today I am spotting again and I have not had sex in a week! Dr, wants to put me under and cauterize this since she has done silver nitrate to the granulation tissue 4 time in the last year. I am afraid to go through this again. I am not sure now why I am bleeding. Help, I want off this road. I don't have a cervix and am on Vilville patch, everything else is good.

Spotting almost 2 years after!

Hi Lisa,
I also have had spotting several times since my LAVH in Dec. I also kept my ovaries, but not my cervix. My previous doctor just kept treating me with silver nitrate. Now I found a new doctor. My new doc was very thorough and found that I seem to have an endometrial cyst growing through my vaginal cuff. So I am going to also have to go back under & have another surgery to remove them. It seems to me that there are many ladies who have spotting after the hyst. I'm glad to hear that you are going to your doctor and I hope that they will quickly resolve any problems!
I know that if you keep your cervix that there are chances of having "mini-periods."

Spotting almost 2 years after!

My mother was just treated today for a vaginal polup.
She thought she was preparing for the next imackulant conception! :0

No, really, she went through menopause over 10 years ago.

You will know more once you get in to see the Dr.

Best wishes for a speady heal time.
