3rd time around

I have had two hysterectomy's and are scheduled for a third on October 15th. the Dr's said that a small piece of of ovary was left and now has cyst's on it. Once again I am in pain. My last sergry they walked me from the Dr office to the operating room, and I got married 11 day's after (the best thing I ever did), now I have to put my DH through this all again because they messed up. It does not seem right. I have been to 4 Dr's in the last 2 months and they all agree that I need to have it removed and that it has to be full sergry again. I am scared and resentful for having to go through this again. Has anyone else gone through this? And how do I make sure this is the last time?

Hi Tedswife,

I am a little confused with your post because a hysterectomy is removal of the uterus so that would be a one time thing ... I thought perhaps you meant that you had to have the laparatomy incision (the bikini line/abdominal incision) twice to first remove the uterus and ovaries and then maybe to remove an ovarian remnant? Or maybe you only had the uterus removed the first time and then the ovaries a second time.

There are many here who have dealt with ovarian remnant problems and also multiple surgeries.

If you could clarify it would be helpful.

I have had 2 surgeries. a tvh and bladder repairs 6 yrs ago and now 6 weeks ago had to have my ovaries and tubes removed due to cysts on them. Having had them both done is a lot of stress both mentally and pyhsically. I can imagine it would be really hard on you when you have to have it done because the "professionals" overlooked something the first time. I think I would tell them to give you a copy of all your medical reports and make sure that you keep them so you know what they have done to you.or not done. You aren't using the same Dr are you? Good luck to you from a twice punctured princess too.

The fist was the uterus, then the overies, Bikini cut and this is a remnant, what gets me is how do they live and produce cysts? They told me after the last one that everything was gone.
I will have a new Dr. , but the old one is going to assist.
