Good News At My House Too
I had an oncologist appointment today and all was wonderful. I can now breathe easier. My ca125 number is down to 9 .... Single digits WOW!!! As you all know, during the summer, my number rose to 34 and then went down into the 20's so this was a scary one for me. Anyway, my oncologist did say that sometimes, things that we think are good for us may actually be messing up the numbers. So....the mushroom complex pills are history for me!!! In fact anyone with fluctuating numbers, please take a look at what kinds of vitamins or supplements and things like that that you are taking.
I asked her about the ovarex and although she was the one who told me about it months ago, at this time she is not very much in favor of it. She said that when taking it, I guess in the trial study, she has heard that it increases and plays games with the ca125 number. She also said that the patient and the doctor are not allowed to see the number and they will not tell you what it is. She did not like that.
Siren, I also asked her about the yearly Taxol and she was not a fan of that also. She said that some people do request that option but after about 6 months give it up because they get too too sick.
My oncologist just deals with ovarian cancer so I do highly trust her judgement.
Anyway, enough blabbling....Hope all is well with everyone.

Dear Rosalie, So happy to hear the great CA 125!!! That was my last number, too! You must be thrilled.
As far as the mushroom complex, well, it makes sense to me...
Thanks for sharing the great news. Hope you're enjoying being back to school.
