ultrasound

Hi! I have to go have an ultrasound this week because i'm having pain. I was wondering if anyone knows what they can tell
from ultrasound?? Can they tell if stitches are ripped ? or what???

My dr did an ultrasound on me looking for (and finding) fluid that had built up around my incision. It was painful, so that may be what yours is looking for. There may be other things they can see with an ultrasound as well...

an ultrasound can pick up numerous abnormalities..depending on what your complaints are, will depend on what exactly the dr is looking for.....i had an ultrasound (external and internal) done at 4 weeks post due to some left side pain and swelling...the dr checked for abcesses,hernias, tears, swelling, bleeding, cysts, bladder retention,etc..fortunately nothing was found.....dont worry about it (easier said than done)..if theres anything wrong it will be picked up by the ultrasound.

I am going for an ultrasound on Oct 21. I am 8 months post-op and still having lots of tenderness in my belly and incision plus an almost pulling feeling in my lower right side (where the large tumor was on my ovary). I am guessing they will be able to see anything that isnt supposed to be there (I hope anyway). I have to admit though, parts of me are hoping Im just a slow learner as I really dont want to have to go through any more surgery.
