Needless Worry?
Hi: I feel kind of funny asking this but, has anyone else had a problem with gas 9 weeks after surgery? Not swelly belly or the gas problems after surgery. All of a sudden I seemed to have developed lactose intolerance or something. I've never experienced such problems before. I'm not constipated or having any troubles with that, just gas. I guess after having the endo. cancer diagnosised I'm just monitering everything with a wary eye. I did have a ct scan after 7 weeks and that came back normal which should be reassuring but Im still awfully nervous. My problem does seem to be connected with milk products, but now since I can't take HRT, I want to make sure I get enough calcium. Any ideas?

You May be on the Right Track
I had trouble with dairy after my operation which went away but after 8 carboplatin treatments I found I was more lactose intolerant. I can't say I am lactose intolerant, but I was having problems consuming dairy. Today I'm OK with cheese and ice cream in moderation but not milk. I'm not sure why this happened but I have heard of others too having problems.

Needless Worry?
I use a product by Country Life called Cal Snack--a 500 mg chewable calcium with magnesium and vit D. This way I don't have to hassle with the milk issue.
I think they shot a lot of anti-biotics into us during surgery--justifiably so---so afterward, I did some pro-biotic formula capsules from the health food store to put some healthy flora back into the intestines, it has helped me with the gas. I have also started taking an all- around enzyme with meals--that seems to be helping to.
God, I sound like a walking pill-popper---but it is only a few and they have helped me.
Good Luck!
