...that I wish that I had had done before my surgery, but didn't know to ask.

1. Had a Complete Blood Count test done (Aka: a FBC), so I would know what was 'normal' for me;

2. Had a hormonal level test done before the TAH/BSO.

Now I am curious!

As an ICU RN, I am certain you had a CBC done before your surgery. Probably even along with a type and screen in case you would need some blood. This is routine before any abdominal surgery. But to compare a pre op result of a CBC would be meaningless with a CBC now.

And why the hormone level test pre op? Even this would have changed drastically after your surgery.

Karenann,

Now that makes sense that a CBC would have been done before my surgery, so will ask the medical staff. Thank you.

And re: hormonal levels - well, I really have no plans to do HRT - but - never say never - it would have been some bench mark should I decide to do HRT. I have few symptoms re: this, and only sweat due to the fact that the temperature yesterday here was - according to The Weather Channel site - 89 degrees or 32 C, BUT! when they factored in other things, they came up with "feels like 44 degrees C. or 111 degrees F." At 4 p.m., but cooler today.
