UGH!!! Yeast Infection!!!

Ok, just need to gripe!

When I went to my Dr. on 9/24, she took my IUD out. When I went back this past Friday for my ultrasound, the pathology had come back and I had a bacterial infection. So...she put me on Amoxicillan 500 mg 3 times a day for 7 days. Man!!! I haven't had a yeast infection in YEARS!!! Forgot what it was like!!! I am in complete misery and can't wait to go to bed tonight so that I can use the Monistat that I bought today!

Sorry, just venting!

UGH!!! Yeast Infection!!!

Dear Michelle,

As a former victim of mulitple yeast infections, I understand your misery

Call you doc or pharmacist & ask about getting something over-the-counter for the discomfort (until the Monistat has done its job). I used to use a med called Uri-Stat.

Hope this info helps

UGH!!! Yeast Infection!!!

While you are on antibiotics make sure you eat a yougurt a day! and make sure its the kind with the live bacteria in it.

antibiotics cant separate from good bacteria and bad bacteria so it kills both and that alone can cause a yeast infection!

so make sure you eat your yougurt every day! and im sure the monostat will help a lot but the yougurt will actually help it do its job better!

yeast infections are no fun, i get them under my belly sometimes and they are sooo itchy and yucky!

best of luck to you!

Deanna

UGH!!! Yeast Infection!!!

I did the same thing I got a yeast infection. UUUUGGGG! Then I used the one day Monistat and the nurse on Monday tells me that doesn't work I should have used the 3 day. AAHHHHHH The one true blue remedy is Acidophilus pills that way the yogurt is in pill form and bigger dose then yogurt. My SIL has chronic yeast infections and it is what her DR perscribed. It works for me. GOOD LUCK
