cancer concern with weird symptoms

Hi, This is all new to me so I hope I'm doing this right. I started in April of this year with shoulder pain and numbness. It took several Drs. and tests and they are still not 100% sure what it is. But I've lost muscle in my upper right arm and it is numb from shoulder cap down to just about my elbow. I also have been having spotting, pain during my cycle (mid stomach pain but only sometimes), but I always have gas, bloating, fullness sometimes, shortness of breath, night sweats. Those symptoms have been around for some time but have gotten worst about 2 months or so before my shoulder pain. I've had a colonoscopy, endoscopy, ultasound, bloodwork, barium of upper and lower gi, but they didn't find anything but some cysts on my ovaries. The Dr. thinks it might be endometrious outside my uterous. He said we could try hormones but I don't want to do that unless I'm sure thats what it is. He said he could do a laperoscopy but it might not show anything. I don't know what to do. And now three weeks ago I found a lump on my right breast. I'm going to see my Dr. next week to have her check it. I wonder if anyone else has had anythin like this its been so frustrating. My arm is still numb and I still have muscle loss and pain that wakes me up at night, not as painful thank goodness! They say it might be from a virus but not 100% sure and no one knows how long it will take for it to go away. I would appreciate any input. Thanks Sue

cancer concern with weird symptoms

Hi Sue

You certainly have a variety of physical symptoms. Does your doctor think the muscle loss, pain, GI symptoms, and Menstrual symptoms are related?

My only advice would be to consult a specialist to determine what is causing the muscle loss and if a rehab program would be of benefit.

I know it can be distressing not knowing what is causing these symptoms. You are posting on a cancer board. Are you worried that you may have cancer? Your tests have been negative so far and I hope they continue to be.

Good Luck

Ruth S
