Breast Cancer Awareness Month

I just returned this afternoon from the "Making Strides for Breast Cancer" walk.

I also had breast cancer and feel so fortunate that so much attention is focused on programs and awareness for Breast Cancer. After spending time on the Hystersisters site these past several months, I am so aware that ovarian and other gyn. cancers do not get enough press and recognition. I agree that there needs to be more attention focused on the issue.

I had colon cancer 4 years before my BC diagnosis. Ovarian ultrasounds have been part of my regular follow ups. So little is written about the triangle of breast/ovarian/colon.

I feel that anyone that has had BC should be screened for OC and visa versa.

Yep, I also get my colonoscopy done as well. Been doing that now for the past so many years. Not a pleasant prep experience, but they have found polps two out of the three colonoscopy's. So that is my cue to make sure I keep following up with these as well.

It's amazing what we women have to go through!!!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Well I had a mammogram On Oct 3, was called the next Monday, was back having a redo and ulstrasound last Monday. Radiologist feels it is a fibroadenoma which is a benign cyst but until I get the biospy done on Monday am and have the results back (3 working days later he said) I won't feel like I am "safe", that is for sure. I didn't know about the link of endometrial cancer to the others either. Guess maybe I thought since mine was linked to PCOS that would be it.
