PRE-OP In the morning

Hello Ladies

I went to my GYN this morning, He is also going to be doing some repairs on the 28th. It seems like my vaginal walls have colapsed
as well as my bowels and bladder. He said that is why it hurts so bad to have sex, and why I cant empty my bladder or bowels. Looks like I will be staying in the hospital for 4 to 5 days. He said I might be able to come home in 4 days. It depends on my URO also. He also said I have a grade 3 prolapse and he didnt want to waite any longer to have it fixed. I am so glad I have such a good GYN. The uro I have is coming from out of state he has office hours in my area 2 days a week. But if I need him he said he will come anytime night or day. I know I am going on and on I guess I am getting a little scared as the time gets closer. My mom knows I am scared so we are leaving for Tenn. friday We want to go to the mountains and see the leaves change. and to also bring my aunt back with us. I do know the uro will be going in through my stomach and my gyn will be going in down there. Never had any thing cut on down there so i dont know what to expect . Sorry for this being so long. I am going to stop now..

Thanks to all of you.

Brenda

PRE-OP In the morning

Hi (((Brenda))), it's natural to be nervous about an extensive repair like that. It does sound like your DRs are coordinating among themselves and you've got your family supporting you, so you're in good hands!

I had my hyst vaginally along with the A&P repairs your GYN is probably planning to do, and I'd have to say the best thing I had when I was recovering was my friend the donut pillow. I sat on that pillow for a good six weeks post op, and it really eased the discomfort of the incisions 'down there'. You may want to also ask your GYN if you can use a small squirt bottle of water to spray your tender areas with when you use the bathroom.... that can feel pretty good, too.

Enjoy your trip to see the leaves change.... I grew up in New England and really miss that every autumn. Maybe it will put you in a nice relaxing mood, ready for your surgery. It won't be long now till you are home again recovering, a new again!

s,
-Linda
