still waiting for MRI and disappointed in Uro.....

Well at best guess it's been almost 8wks now since I saw my Uro , and she said she would send me for the defecography and MRI to look for my secondary prolapse......at 4wks I called and left a message at her office, no one replied....at 6wks I called again and no reply finally last Friday I get a message at home saying that they are still waiting to hear from the hospital on my MRI and that she doesn't want any other tests booked until that's done and that it could be quite some time until that happens

In the meantime....I just suffer I guess, this is after the previous appointment she told me an MRI wouldn't show a prolapse, I sorta feel like she's decided I am not surgical (in her opinion right now, she doesn't fix cytocele's until they're stage 3 or 4 and I"m a 1) so no money in it I guess, I don't know.....so I'm still in pain, still have something falling out of me on a daily basis to one extent or another....the lower back pain is brutal and I'm either leaking or having trouble voiding period!

Sorry girls, I guess I"m mad here, just another case of a dr fobbing me off and left afloat I guess I need another opinon which means yet another waiting list and who to even see?

thanks for listening to me vent on the upside, the mirapex is working great for the aching legs and I go for my sleep study a week this Sat.....at least their's that.

even though I'm not posting much I am trying to get in here and peek around and see how you are all doing , I'm so busy at work I don't know if I'm coming or going but please know you're in my thoughts and I"m sending 's!

still waiting for MRI and disappointed in Uro.....

Gidge
Geesh, 8 weeks to schedule a test??? It doesn't cost the doc anything to schedule a test does it??? At least it may rule some things out. It still amazes how long you wait, my ENT doc schedule me for a test and they called me the next day and asked if I could be there in 30 minutes.

I am sorry you're still feeling poorly. I really wish we could find the answers or someone could wave a and we would feel better.

((((Gidge))))) Kind of reminds me of when it took me 4 weeks to schedule a blood test .... sometimes, the Canadian system stinks!!!

((((Gidge))))) Since she won't do a surgery, because your cystocele is only a stage 1 (BTW, it's my understanding that stage 1 and 2 rarely warrant a surgery), but you do have another type of prolapse, most likely more severe, to contend with, it sounds to me like you'll need to seek the help of yet another specialist. My OB/GYN performed my rectocele repair, but I wonder who, other than a General Surgeon, would specialize in this type of repairs?

Have you tried contacted the hospital to have an ETA on the MRI? And why the MRI if it's not going to show your prolapse?

Ah... Gidge... sorry, seems like I have more questions than answers

Hang in there, ((((sweetie)))), we're here for you.

still waiting for MRI and disappointed in Uro.....

thanks for your replies girls

I understand Dany about having more questions then answers...that's me in a nutshell right now! Some dr's do fix grade one cystocele's depending if the patient is symptomatic which I am....this really bad lower back pain and the bladder spasms are enough to make me want someone to do something that's for sure!

She was pretty plain about the fact she feels there is another type of prolapse going on but not plain on how to find it when I asked if I should be seeing someone else she just said "no, I can fix any type of prolapse" yeah right, she just can't find it that's all!

to top it off the last two mornings BM's have been back to the old break into a total body sweat I"m in so much pain and actually think I'm going to die on the toilet or throw up .....I"m still nauseas and I have no idea why that's started up again.

thanks for listening anyways!

((Gidge)),
I'm so sorry your left at playing the *waiting game* again Did your Uro suggest any alternative treatemnts to help alleviate some of your symptoms until something can be done?
Unfortunately, mine has been getting worse as well :ugh: I have been battling UTI's one after another...caused by the bladder prolapse:-( When the UTI's pop up the symptoms I experience worsen to the point of an *I'm dyin* feeling. I also am still dealing w/ the same BM troubles....isnt life grand?!? NOT!!!

Does your nausea occur when the pain worsens? I ask b/c pain has that affect on me!
Sorry I couldnt offer any suggestions or advice only can relate...Pls know my thots are w/ you (((Gidge))) hopefully those tests will be scheduled soon :::crossing fingers:::::: Post when you can & let us know how your doing

((((hugs)))))

still waiting for MRI and disappointed in Uro.....

Hey Sheri.....just having someone else relate is plenty some days so thanks!

Yes, the nausea started when the pain got real bad this morning when I was going (just like it use to) it just hasn't gone away, the pain lessened after the BM but is still there vaguely....am wondering if this has to do with the mystery prolapse or what?

I'm sure the cystocele makes my IC symptoms worse as well....the spasms and burning especially so I know how you feel with the UTI's......hang in there baby!!!

..oh and as far as alternative treatments she doesn't think biofeedback or pelvic physio would help as my pelvic floor is in "pretty decent shape" according to her she said that prolapses develop despite this sometimes due to the internal supports giving way(ligaments etc I guess?) and that lying down should help and staying off my feet.

still waiting for MRI and disappointed in Uro.....

thanks Sheri

yeah she says that and then leaves me hanging for two months...well lets face it, indefinitely really since she's already said that the MRI won't show it in the last appt and now she says it's the "cutting edge technology" for this sort of thing .....no wonder we all think we're going bonkers they don't make any sense these dr's~~

well I still feel like I have a knife stuck in my right side and am totally nauseas still.....hope I don't stay like this

Hey gidge

So sorry you're playing the waiting game again. You know, your symptoms sound like ibs. The knife in the side, the pain until you have a bm, the nausea, etc. I can totally relate! Can you take Metamucil? (I know you have lots of allergies) or maybe your GP can write a script for Hyoscyamine or another anti-spasmodic. There are times when I get a flare-up (usually brought on by stress) that I can barely stand straight and my prescription really helps.

Just throwing that out there! I know lots of docs say our symptoms are due to ibs but sometimes they truly are! Hope you feel better soon...

still waiting for MRI and disappointed in Uro.....

yeah who knows Sheila, I suppose it can't be ruled out but I never get diarehea which I understand is also supposed to be related to IBS.....this feels exactly like my adhesion pain on my bowels and colon, along with the extreme pain with BM etc....so IBS would almost be a blessing at this point.

today is a wee bit better, it's still there but not as bad thank god....now if we could just get this lower back pain gone!
