Climara patch

Hi Char If you are getting a rash where the patch is applied, I would call your DR asap and see about switching to a different patch to see if you can tolerate one of the others better. The Vivelle dot is usually better tolerated by most women, unless they have an allergy to wild yams, which is the source of its estradiol.

If it turns out you react to all the patches, you could try a compounded cream or pill form of estrogen and see if that works better for you.

Hope this helps!

Changed to premarin

Great advice thanks! Before I got the call from my I spoke with the attending on call....she told me to move the patch to another site until I spoke with my . I listened and now I have to rash spots. My doctor changed me to premarin. I just took one this morning. Is it better to take in the morning or night or does it matter? Char

Climara patch

I haven't used Premarin so I can't speak from experience about when is best to take it. My impression from other ladies here who've used it is that it's an individual thing. I think it makes more of a difference with Estrace, which is shorter-lived in your system... Premarin tends to hang around longer so the fluctuations aren't as noticeable.

Perhaps one of the ladies who's used Premarin will come along and offer her
