Routine colonoscopy...and surprise!

My cervical polyp was cancer and I am seeing a doctor on Wed.
to schedule a colonoscopy. I'm 8 weeks post-op so I don't know how soon they have to schedule it. I'm still sore after my 10
hour days at work!. Jackie

Pathology report back!

Just received a call from my doctor and because of the results of my biopsy - he would like to monitor this polyp with a follow-up colonoscopy in December. NO SURGERY! At least for now - I'm thrilled...had a horrible weekend thinking about all the possible "what ifs"! Dr. was surprised (happily) at the pathology - expected another kind of polyp (villious vs. tubular adenomas) because it is flat, not mushroom-like in shape. Mine was tubular. The villious adenomas are more likely to turn malignant down the road.

Great News!!

Susanne--

I'm so glad the results of the biopsy were good and that you don't have to undergo surgery again at this point!!

I was hoping that something would happed so that you would not need to have another surgery so soon after your hysterectomy.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that the next colonoscopy will show no further change and that it can just be monitored without any invasive procedure to remove the polyp.

Take care.

You would think I could celebrate!

So after my cancer dx, my Mom passing away, my sister's dx of brain ca, my cat dying, my hyst, and the colonoscopy scare, I was finally going to go back to work today and I just got a call, and my boss let me go. Seems she decided to stay with my "temporary replacement" - and there's nothing I can do because I was self-employed. I just need to vent...

When it rains, it pours...
