Climara Patch

Hi Everyone
I have not posted in a while and have been doing ok. It has been 16 mos. since my surgery. I have found that the Climara Patch works the best for me. I do have a lot of trouble getting the adhesive off my underwear. Any ideas? I think I remember reading about a certain brand that the adhesive doesn't stick to as readily. Thanks for your help.

Hi--

Glad to hear Climara is working well for you.

Here are some tips on removing the gunky adhesive ring:

I think the Vivelle Dot may be a little easier to deal with when it comes to the adhesive, simply because it is quite a bit smaller than "regular" patches. I would hesitate to switch tho, if you are doing well on Climara.

Thanks for your reply. However, I don't have any problem getting the adhesive off of my skin. It is my underwear that I cannot get the adhesive off of. I have tried alcohol, baby oil and then washing and even then, there is an unsightly ring on my underwear. SomewhereI think I remember reading of a certain brand of underwear that the adhesive didn't stick to. Was it Jockey? And if so what style? Anybody remember?

It might have been one of my posts you're remembering. I've never had a problem with the adhesive sticking to the underwear, but rather with fuzzies from the underwear sticking on the adhesive around the patch which leaves a dark ring if you're wearing black panties (which I do a lot).

I've found that microfiber panties don't leave the fuzzies on the adhesive. One brand that works especially well and is very comfortable is Jockey. I don't know the exact style name, but they are the ones with the no panty line guarantee and come in briefs, high cut (which I like a lot) and bikinis in lots of colors. I get them at Marshall's usually, but the department stores all have them.

i saw a product in wal-mart the other day called desolvit and it is in a spray bottle and is non toxic. it is suppose to take off everything that sticks and leaves a sticky residue. i think it runs around $3-$5. you can use it in your hair on your skin, on wood just about anything. it is made from pure orange oil.

Powder

Hi,

When I used the Climara patch, if I put some powder on it after I applied it , the sticky stuff stuck to the powder and not on underwear.
