shaving?

The doc said that they would shave me when I was out (LAVH) but I did not ask how much. For my lap they just shaved a little above the pubic line. Is this the case with a LAVH or is it more? Just wondering?

shaving?

((Terri)),
I had a TAH & just the 1st 1/2 inch (across the top of my hairline) or so was shaved...luckily it was done *after* I was out I think it depends on the surgical route, your Drs preference ect...
I'm sure others will be along to share their experiences as well...Good Luck w/your upcoming surgery

(((hugs)))

shaving?

Hi,

Just a quick note, please don't shave yourself unless your doctor specifically tells you to. Surgeries have been cancelled because patients (or overzealous nurses) took it on themselves to shave the operative site. There is a risk of infection through small nicks and cuts in the skin, and some doctors do not want their patients shaved or wait until right before surgery to do so. So be sure to check with your doctor before doing anything.

s,

Lisa
